Majlis Permuafakatan Ummah (Pewaris), Muslim Consumers Asso-ciation, Federal Territory Bumiputra Traders’ Association and Kuala Lumpur Malay Chamber of Com-merce Malaysia will take legal action against the organisers within three weeks after it has gathered enough evidence.
Muslim Consumers Association secretary-general Datuk Dr Ma’amor Osman said: “We need time to make justified claims.”
He urged all parties who had suffered material and psychological losses to contact the association.
The associations are also considering legal action against the police force for failing to stop the demonstration. Pewaris economy adviser Datuk Annuar Zaini said the impact of the damage caused by the demonstration was “indefinite”.
“If you see it from a macro level, it affects the foreign direct investment in Malaysia,” he said. - The Star.
