He also praised the residents, who were proactive and had held a meeting with the association earlier to find a solution.
"They had met up two days ago. They plan to meet up again tonight and issue a joint statement tomorrow," he told reporters after meeting representatives of the Section 23 Shah Alam Community Association at his office, here on Wednesday.
Hishammuddin said he would help to monitor the discussions and also become a mediator if required.
"However, based on the inputs they have given me, they will be able to handle it," he said.
In SHAH ALAM, Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim challenged any party to come up with a better solution for the issue.
"If they say they can do better, please do. This is why we issued letters to those who made press statements against the Selangor government on the matter, including ministers," he said.
He said the state government would hold several dialogues to explain the selection process for the temple's relocation, which had caused anger amongst residents of Section 23 Shah Alam, as it would be too close to their homes.
Khalid said the temple issue was not the current state government's problem, but was that of the previous state government which still had not been resolved.
Meanwhile, in KUALA LUMPUR, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said police had identified those responsible for the demonstration in front of the State Secretariat Building where the severed head of a cow was displayed.
He said the police took 60 statements in three days to single out who were involved in the controversial protest on Friday.
Regarding claims by the opposition that the police were not serious in handling the issue, Musa said the accusations were baseless. -- BERNAMA
