PUTRAJAYA: Lunas assemblyman Mohd Radzhi Salleh, who turned independent after quitting Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), has been asked to hand over a recording of a telephone conversation between PKR supremo Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Padang Serai member of parliament N. Gobalakrishnan to the police.
Barisan Nasional and Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said Radzhi should leave it to the police to investigate the matter.
Padang Serai division acting chief Jamaluddin Abu Hassan, who together with more than 200 division members quit PKR and disbanded the division, had claimed that in the conversation, Anwar had instructed Gobalakrishnan to cause problems during nomination day in Permatang Pasir.
Gobalakrishnan was arrested on nomination day on Aug 17 for causing a ruckus and slapping a policeman.
Tengku Adnan said the revelation about Anwar was nothing new.
"It does not come as a surprise to BN and Umno leaders. We all know that Anwar is the type of leader who baling batu sembunyi tangan (not taking responsibility for his actions).
"Radzhi should not waste time but hand over the recording to the police as soon as possible."
Tengku Adnan also said Umno's doors were always open to the people, including Radzhi.
"We welcome those who believe in our fight and the leadership of BN chairman and Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak." - NST
